I have always gone in and out of craft mode. I tend to get on a kick of making something in a multitude of variations. There was a time when I was REALLY into making little cloth animals. Rabbits were the "main" them (since my business is called HOPPING) and I called them Crazy Bunnies - or if they had a wicked look to them (many did) I called them Voodoo Bunnies. Some had wings, some had 2 different eyes, ALL had hearts on them.
I had a series of chickens at the same time - these too had hearts on them. I called them Chickens with a Heart on.
How are you spending New Year's Eve?
#1 - I'll be cooking Cas a birthday dinner. She wants me to make my "rolls" (egg bread like challah twisted into individual rolls with poppy seeds) and salmon with Bearnaise sauce. I'll get Aaron to help me make a pie or cake or other treat for dessert.
#2 - Cas and her friends will head off to a club - and Ben and I will just chill together.
Ben and I have spent over a decade of New Year's Eves together at home! I am married to an introvert, who does not drink and hates to be in a crowd of strangers. I love it. I used to think I "needed" to be out in the world to celebrate the start of a new year. All I really need is what I have. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. :-) (mmm shower with Benny)
Cas and I went out to see ENCHANTED yesterday! Its a Disney movie that makes fun of the Disney sappiness by being REALLY sappy! In it - cartoon characters came to life. We ended up at a SPANISH SUBTITLED showing, because we'd REALLY gone there to see WALK HARD and well - oops - it was at the other theatre. What's playing now?
It was very entertaining - with a lot of very adult humor woven into what "looks" like a childish movie.
I fell in love with Pip.. the chimpmunk who could talk in the cartoon, but had to act out what he wanted to say in the real world. What he goes through - priceless.
