HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Aaron and Cas and Adam went out and bought me this awsome ice cream cake, a martini shaker, a ONE REPUBLIC cd , a PANIC AT THE DISCO cd and a spay bottle of urine-be-gone. (cat issues, lol) Ben cleaned up the patio , took me to lunch in SF and is building me a new PC. I got to chill in my hammock with my doggies and go to dinner with Cas and Aaron Adam . Work load was light. All in all a great day!
I had a GREAT day. As I was sitting here finishing up a bit of work, there came a knock on my office window. Ben was out in the front patio CLEANING.
Omg... this is not normal behavior for my game loving, sit in the office husband. He was sweeping up leaves and pulling up patio stones to fix a "dip" issue. I joined him. We worked for HOURS out there - cleaning up all the leaves -pulling up all the old plants and trimming bushes. We moved the furniture around and added a big red umbrella to the table. (looks FABULOUS against the green house) We power washed the entire courtyard and the fountain. We sucked all the old green water out of the fountain - scrubbed it and refilled it. Now it has fresh clean flowing water! I repotted plants and cleaned up all the planting beds so I can plant my bedding plants this weekend. (red impatients!) We filled 2 HUGE bins full of leaves and branches. The result is amazing! I have my courtyard back!
I am going to move my green and red striped hammock to the front courtyard tomorrow. The color will look great and I will like resting in it there more than I do on my back patio where the oak trees bury it in sharp leaves....

I think I'll have my birthday coffee tomorrow sitting under my new red umbrella on my clean patio! Oh - and I've been telling everyone I'm 54 so the shock won't be so bad when I turn 54 tomorrow. (lol)
It's my son's birthday tomorrow too. He is turning 18 which in California means "adult."
For his birthday, I bought a ticket for his online friend to come and visit here next weekend.
OK Vox - WTF - is there no way you can at least let me FILTER who calls me a friend without having to make my blog private? I know there is no way you are going to shut down what "I" find offensive/nasty but maybe if they are gonna post porn as their main page there could be a warning first?
I get lots of email saying this or that person has added me to their neighborhood. I go to each one's site. I feel they must have read my blog, I should at least read their latest post - yes?
This morning I got one - and clicked and saw more than I could stomach - 8 inches from my face.
I feel like I need to wash my monitor to get the stink off.
Ben got sung too at Bucca di Beppo tonight - embarrassing.
Worse, (or better depending on how you look at it) he tasted the Mojito's Cas and I were drinking and ordered one for himself - and got carded - on his 32nd birthday. He did not have his ID. He did not his his Mojito.
He did get a lovely dinner, prolific oven cake, Rock-em-sock-em robots, a red monkey hat (star with red skelton head), an Energie shirt, a reversible Salvage sweatshirt, a wide angle lens for his camera - and hugs and kisses.
We were going to have to fly off for a project in Seattle - but luckily it got put off for a few weeks.
We need the chill time, but I would have loved to spend the weekend exploring new places together.
Its been FUN in Vegas with my friends, but I look forward to being back with by baby tomorrow night!
I went to the MGM spa today for a massage (awesome btw) and as I was getting the "tour" of the facilities, the girl asked if I was having a good time in Vegas. "Yes " i said, " but I miss my husband"
She looked at me and smiled and said "women who aren't with their husbands all day every day don't miss them - you two must spend all your time together."
Sniff - yup - and here I am, yes, having fun, but missing my other half.
